Hapa Izakaya

Hapa Izakaya (Robson) on Urbanspoon

What is a Izakaya do you ask? It is a casual after-work place that serves food with alcohol. The menu is large and has a wide variety of menu items. The kitchen will serve the food when it’s ready rather than in formal courses like Western restaurants. An Izakaya is similar to a Tapas.

Here are some pictures of the dishes that we got…

Ebi Avocado Salad
Ebi Mayo – wild tempura shrimp with spicy mayo sauce
Chicken Karaage – soy ginger sauce
Yaki Udon
Gindara – Sablefish with Sake Miso Sauce
Amaebi Sashimi
Deep fried Shrimp head
Ika – grilled squid, sake soy garlic marinade
Beef Tataki – Sesame-chili Sauce
Tako Wasabi
I like Hapa Izakaya, the food and the service is good, but Guu is my favorite. Which one do you prefer? Guu? Hapa? Suika? Kingyo? Zakkusshi? Or a different Japanese izakaya restaurant?
